My Story
Susan is a life-long resident of Salem County who loves the country and small town feel of community. She is excited to be part of an organization working for the betterment of that community. She grew up in a Christian environment but her relationship with God became stronger as she entered her teen years.
Susan first met her husband when she was thirteen and he was twelve. They attended the same church and the relationship that began as friends grew into a lifetime of happiness that includes two amazing sons.
She is in her 40th year working as an administrative assistant at a university and is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. She has served in many ministries over the years starting at the age of 13 as a Sunday School teacher and continuing to serve in later years with bus ministry, as youth leader, and in ladies’ ministry. Currently, she is a small group facilitator, VBS coordinator, Sunday School teacher, and, along with her husband, serves as Jr. Bible Quiz Coach and Children’s Ministry Leader.
Her compassion to help others grew over time through working with families of the children in the bus ministry and with the knowledge of her best friend’s homeless situation. She is very nurturing and an avid listener. So much so, that she has been labeled by many of the students she works with as their “second mom”.
Susan is excited to dive into this new ministry with the anticipation of accomplishing great things together with the Beautiful Vessels HFD team.
“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.”
