My Story
At the age of twenty-four Khaliea was the general manager of a multi-million-dollar restaurant chain on Park Ave, NY; her family life was fulfilling, and she had a clear vision for her future which included traveling the world. She had reached the climax of her life, until a prophetic call to ministry beamed a microscope over her life which revealed a strong, self-sufficient, self-willed, goal-oriented mindset that made it difficult for her to surrender to the will and calling of God. Defiant and unwilling to submit, Khaliea would navigate the next couple of years seeing a deterioration in her family life and career; overall, everything began spiraling out of control.
Desperate to lead a life as a career woman, Khaliea would move into a new home, and take another job at Newark Airport, running a multi-unit food court with 17 restaurants. This only put further strain on her family, prevented her from attending regular church services, and amplified the voice of God in her ear. After many tearful and sleepless nights, the guilt and shame of neglecting her roles as a wife and mother and the dissatisfaction with the job led to her resignation. Without this job security she was forced to look within to learn her true identity. Beyond that strong career driven woman and entrepreneur was a broken little girl. The foundation of her pain was sparked by the separation of her mother and stepfather. She was hit with the reality of her biological father’s absence, whom she thought had abandoned her, and having to learn how to navigate life mostly alone because her single mom had to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Her ongoing journey to wholeness is birthing a vision she could have never envisioned.
Today, Beautiful Vessels Housing & Family Development is the perfect piece of the puzzle that was missing in Khaliea’s life. She now dedicates her life to sharing her story and helping those who have felt abandoned, rejected, and unworthy. Khaliea endeavors to continue to inspire those around her to strive for greatness and to make a meaningful difference in the world, regardless of how their story began. In the end, she has resigned to the idea of persuading others despite what they have gone through, to endeavor to be- passionate, obedient to God, and compassionate to others. Ultimately, destiny would reveal that her fatherlessness was her life's purpose. The Fatherless girl foundation was established, allowing Khaliea’s journey to wholeness to become an open book to girls and women all over the world.
1 Corinthians 13:12 Amplified Bible
12 For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God].
